Lyrical Ballet is a style of dance created by merging ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques, demonstrating balance, extension, control, technique and incorporating emotional and story telling elements. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.

Meloney Branford and Zoe Coetzee competed in the WLDF SA competition, in Capetown , 20 May 2017. They have qualified to represent South Africa as part of the WORLD LYRICAL DANCE FEDERATION SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM, travelling to London, to compete in the World Championship at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, 28-30 July 2017.
